Niseko Spa Hirafu first opened to the public in December 2016 in a commercial/residential building designed by renowned Italian architect Riccardo Tossoni. The building is called Haven and is located in Lower Hirafu bordering a beautiful white birch tree forest. Within the spa are a series of refined rooms fitted with up-to-date equipment and highly-professional, multilingual staff. The clean and contemporary Interior design carried out by spa architects Takara Space Design links the building and Niseko Spa into a seamless package. On offer is a comprehensive package of services including nails, hairdressing, massage therapy and waxing.

On our first visit to Niseko Spa the charming Manager Melodie informed us that the various options on offer are tailored to individual clients. After undergoing a detailed evaluation by a Niseko Spa staff member. Skiing in Niseko’s winter environment presents the skin with three primary challenges: wind burn, sun burn and dry air. Replenishing and hydrating skin repair services on offer at Niseko Spa can be purchased individually or as part of a client-tailored package deal. Melodie suggested clients come once every 3 days for complete care during their Niseko holiday. After a day of skiing head to an onsen and follow that with a trip to Niseko Spa to complete recovery.

Once inside the front door clients are greeted with a warm and attentive welcome by professionally dressed staff. One can immediately sense the quality in the atmosphere of the spa by the attention to detail, care and charm that is apparent everywhere. Each member of the staff are professionally trained and qualified with both English and Japanese speaking staff available. Depending on the choses service, the client is led to a specialized room. A powder room, hair salon, 3 massage rooms, and a nail esthetic room are available.

Private rooms are elegantly arranged to be luxuriously comfortable. Large glass window with wood blinds offer gorgeous views of the daily-changing landscape scenery. Thoughtful details like an origami white swan artfully created from two folded white towels greet clients as they enter the massage rooms. Clients can choose a leg & foot or full body oil massage as individual services. Alternatively, packages such as Ultimate Indulgence, Relax & Escaoe or Detoxify can provide a more comprehensive solution to clients needs.

Niseko Spa is not just for women. A men’s facial package provides a deep cleansing and moisturizing treatment that soothes the skin and helps reduce shaving bumps. “Mountain Man” massage treatment stretches over 2 hours and 30 minutes and provides a complete facial, deep tissue oil massage and manicure.

Hair and skin care products used in the Niseko Spa Hirafu are by Sothy’s of Paris and can also be purchased in the front shop. Nail services are completed in a glass room offering panoramic views of the adjacent white birch tree forest. Clients can watch the white snowflakes descend from the sky outside while seated comfortably seated in hi-tech red massage chairs equipped with a warm water foot bath.

From the moment one enters the Niseko Spa Hirafu one feels that that a luxurious experience awaits. When a spa gets all the details right it delivers an exceptional experience that relaxes, repairs and elevates the body and mind. Niseko Spa delivers just that with a comprehensive spa experience executed by caring, highly competent staff. Adding the Niseko Spa experience to your holiday itinerary will make an excellent Niseko holiday even more memorable.
